How to run it

  • Start with the official pages.

  • Use the hazard perception page to explain the idea behind the clips.

  • Keep it light, chatty, and competitive.

  • If you want more practice, use the 3rd site above or run your own leader-led scenarios rather than adding more websites.

Suggested flow

  • 10 mins — intro and how the theory test works

  • 15 mins — multiple-choice round

  • 15 mins — hazard perception discussion round

  • 10 mins — road sign round

  • 5 mins — recap and winners

Hazard perception note

Hazard perception is best done with video clips, but a Scout version still works well with:

  • still images

  • short scenario cards

  • freeze-frame road photos

  • chat about when a hazard starts to develop

Leader reminders

  • Keep it friendly, not stressful.

  • Go for awareness and judgement, not just right or wrong.

  • If you use outside question material, make sure it’s current and suitable.
